Guide for Consumer Action

The FDA has dangerously low standards for PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls). The FDA’s current levels were determined in 1984, more than 20 years ago. Join us to enlist restaurants, the biggest sellers of fish, to support new testing and stricter standards. To help:

Download our Restaurants for Healthier Fish Letter, and the Information Guide for Restaurants. If you wish, you can also use the handy envelope template to print the address on any standard #10 envelope for mailing the letters.

Bring these to Restaurants and ask the manager, chef or owner to sign the letter stating that they support heightened standards for PCBs by the FDA.

Send the signed RESTAURANTS FOR HEALTHIER FISH letter (or multiple letters) to:

RFHF
OCEANS ALERT
826 Broadway  4th floor
New York, NY 10003

If the person at the restaurant doesn’t wish to sign the letter while you are there, ask him/her to send the signed letter to the address at the bottom of the Restaurant letter.

Oceans Alert’s mission is to involve people worldwide to help rebuild healthy and sustainable fish populations and to restore the health of the oceans and waterways.
