Who we are
Oceans Alert is a 501(c)3 organization under the umbrella of RHD (Resources for Human Development), a Pennsylvania non-profit. It is also incorporated in Delaware.
Founder and Executive Director
Doris Gabbe Cadoux
Former Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture
and Markets. Served on the board of Stonyfield Farm Yogurt Co. from 1989
to 2001. Served as Co-Chair of the Jane Goodall Institute New York Base
Camp. Founder and Executive Director of Oceans Alert (oceansalert.org)
and Save-the-Oceans (save-the-oceans.org). Initiated oceansalert.meetup.

Official of the World Bank with a 30 year career working in many areas of international
development, primarily in Africa, Latin America and Asia Minor.

Executive Vice President; Co-Production Programming for Hallmark Entertainment.
Barbara Pyle
For 20 years was the Vice President of Environmental Policy for Turner Broadcasting
System and CNN Environmental Editor.
Martha Shaw
Media, advertising and brand management consultant.
Paula Silver
Develops, produces and markets motion pictures. Was President of Marketing
and Publicity at Columbia Pictures Worldwide. Created the Tri-Star logo and
coined slogan Only Elephants should wear Ivory.
Eva Haller
Serves on several Boards, including Counterpart, Jane Goodall Institute USA,
Women’s Leadership Board of the Kennedy School of Government. She is
the US president of Kids Can Free the Children.
Paula Perlis
International human activist. Food expert.
Hal Schwartz
Board member of Jane Goodall Institute USA, graphic designer, photographer.
Eric Urbani
The Black Emerald Group, his company, invests in alternative energy. Forward
Leap, his nonprofit, concentrates on growing and marketing products of Nepal.
Dr. Lotus Vermeer
Currently heads up a major project for The Nature Conservancy in California.
Prior to that she served as Director of Research and International Program
Director, Earth and Marine Sciences at Earthwatch Institute.
